San Diego County Noise Ordinance hearing 10/31/08

There is a hearing this coming Friday Oct 31, 2008 to discuss the proposed S.D. County Noise Ordinacne Amendment. This meeting will be held at the county building on Ruffin Rd at 9:00AM. Please read below for details.

This e-mail is being sent to all individuals who commented on the proposed noise ordinance amendments scheduled to be brought before the County Planning Commission on October 17, 2008. In order allow a larger Planning Commission quorum to be available to review and comment on the proposed noise ordinance amendment, the Department of Planning and Land Use will recommend that this item be continued from the October 17th hearing date to October 31st at 9:00 am.

This informational e-mail is being sent so to avoid having individuals who wish to speak on this matter from arriving at the Planning Commission hearing only to discover that this item will be continued for two weeks. It needs to be emphasized that we will be recommending that this item be continued. Consequently there is a possibility that this item will be discussed by the Planning Commission although the Commission does generally follow staff’s recommendation. 6/14/08 - The County of San Diego, CA is in the process of amending noise regulations in the unincorporated areas of the county. This ordinance specifically takes AIM at off-road vehicles. The noise limits are unduly biases against OHV users. It is imperative that off-roaders sound off and let their elected representatives know they oppose this draconian ordinance.
